Mason City home prices fall in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Mason City fell by $51,350 while total sales increased by 33.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were four homes sold, with a median sale price of $51,150 - a 50.1% decrease over the $102,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were three homes sold in Mason City in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Mason City for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $1,550, approximately 3% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
