City of Eureka City Council met July 24.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

Present: Hinnen, Teegarden, Chambliss, Getz, L. Klaus, Germann, Prather, and Peterson.

Also present: Melissa Brown, City Administrator; Rusty Klaus, Director of Public Works (during later executive session) ; Brad Marshall, Water Superintendent, Cary Naas, Wastewater Operator, and Mayor Scott Zimmer

Moved by Hinnen, second by Klaus to move into Executive Session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(C) (1) consider appointment, appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees. Passed on roll call vote Hinnen, Teegarden, Chambliss, Getz, L. Klaus, Germann, Prather, and Peterson all voting Aye.

Discussion had been held on the separation of Doug Eastman as he retires from the City as Wastweater Superintendent and the replacement of Doug by Wastewater Operator Cary Naas.

Moved by Hinnen, second by Germann-to agree to the separation agreement for Doug Eastman. Passed on roll call vote Hinnen, Teegarden, Chambliss, Getz, L. Klaus, Germann, Prather, and Peterson all voting Aye.

Moved by Hinnen, second by Prather to name Cary Naas as the Wastewater Superintendent. Passed on roll call vote Hinnen, Teegarden, Chambliss, Getz, L. Klaus, Germann, Prather, and Peterson all voting Aye.

Moved by Teegarden, second by Klaus to move back into Executive Session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(C)(1) consider appointment, appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees. Passed on roll call vote Hinnen, Teegarden, Chambliss, Getz, L. Klaus, Germann, Prather, and Peterson all voting Aye.

Moved by Prather, second by Hinnen , to move into Executive Session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)5 for discussion of purchase, lease or acquisition of property. Passed on roll call vote Hinnen, Teegarden, Chambliss, Getz, L. Klaus, Germann, Prather, and Peterson all voting Aye.

Discussion had been held on purchasing of a local property. Council decided not to move forward at this time.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
