Village of San Jose Committee of the Whole met Oct. 28.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
Committee of the Whole Meeting called to order by President Worlow at 6:00pm. Meeting was held at Village Hall, 309 S 2nd Street San Jose, Illinois. Roll call taken: Present - Allen; Blackstock; McCormick; Nolan. Absent – Skelton; Tillquist
Also, in attendance: Clerk Custodio, Treasurer Shelley, Water Superintendent Albers. Meeting agenda was posted more than forty-eight in advance on the village website, outside and inside bulletin boards at Village Hall and is attached to and made part of the minutes.
Item #1 on agenda removed, as no action was to be taken.
Item #2 Water Main Project Contingency Funds, discussion as to how to use moneys left in the contingency, suggestions listed below:
- Digital water meters, concerns that they wouldn’t be cost effective.
- Daily testing equipment for chlorine, iron, fluoride.
- Water billing software upgrade.
- Trash pump (for water and sewer leaks) upgrade.
- Auto dialer, to inform citizens of boil orders, snow route, other village emergencies.
- Water tower inspection and maintenance.
- Well #5 new pump.
Treasurer Shelley will contact Shari Lannon at USDA/RD re: water tower inspection/maintenance.
Trustee McCormick will look into the cost of digital readers for water meters.
Trustee Allen made motion to adjourn at 6:50pm, 2nd Trustee Nolan.
