Mason City home prices fall in the fourth quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2019 in Mason City fell by $52,900 while total sales decreased by 20%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2019, there were four homes sold, with a median sale price of $19,950 - a 72.6% decrease over the $72,850 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were five homes sold in Mason City in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Mason City for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $1,453, approximately 7.3% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2019.
