City of BellevilleElectrical Commission met Feb. 25.

Here is the agenda provided by the commission:

I. Call to order Gary Sheerin

II. Roll call of Members and Staff

III. Public Participation

IV. Approval of minutes from last meeting Gary Sheerin

V. Monthly Electric Inspection Report Ken Bassler

VI. Unfinished Business

 Chairman Sheerin to contact the Mayor’s office regarding the appointments of two additional civilian members.

 Chairman Sheerin will contact Mayor’s office regarding how the City would prefer to handle unpermitted electric work.

 Letters sent to approved applicants to attend the next meeting. Letters also sent to applicants that were denied, to have them supply additional supporting information.

 Special accommodations for a large residential remodel project at the Meredith Home, 16 S Illinois St, latitude for historic structures were approved by the code officials.

 Training session on equipment grounding conductors, and bonding of meter base will be arranged by Ken Bassler and Jason Klein.

VII. New Business

 New Applicants:

1. Professional Electric, Michael Liefer

2. Generation Solar LLC, Thomas Holm

3. Tim Maloney, Certificate of further education

 Presentation from City Administration and guests regarding amendments to Chapter 158: Electrical Code of the City of Belleville Municipal Code.

 Recommendation to the City of Belleville Ordinance and Legal Committee regarding repeal of Chapter 158 Sections 151.28(A), 151.28 (E) and 151.28 (I) of the City of Belleville Municipal Code relative to Specific Requirements for Commercial Buildings.

 Motion to change location of monthly Electrical Commission meetings from 407 E Lincoln St to the Second Floor Conference Room of City Hall, 101 S Illinois Street.
