Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Mason County?

There were 18 offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Mason County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Peoria Standard.

The data shows that 15 men and three women were released in Mason County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 34. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 49-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Christopher M. Evans. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2015 when he was 37 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Mason County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
