Analysis: Pekin pays $3.76 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Pekin Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.9 percent of the $2,204,301 the Pekin Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.76 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Pekin contributed $1,739,614 to the fund, which saw a $61,086 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $461,642, or 20.9 percent, in 2018. Another $3,045 came from other unspecified sources.
