City of Marquette Heights City Council met July 27.

CALL TO ORDER
The City Council meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M by Mayor Bradford.
ROLL CALL
Aldermen present for Roll Call: Alderman Little, Amundson, Neuhaus, Neumann, Davis and Bradford.
Clerk Steele, Treasurer Babb, Water Operator Superintendent Brown, Police Chief Merritt, Fire Chief Fortier, Office Manager Minson and Attorney Herman were also present.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS
Mayor
Mayor Bradford asked for a moment of silence in honor of Lyle Wright, former Treasurer for 10 years and Crossing Guard for 10 years.
Clerk
TJ Reynold’s last day with the City will be August 31, 2020.
Treasurer
Please review email from the Mayor regards Debt and Revenue.
The City has applied for $13,000.00 in reimbursement for COVID-19 expenses.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
Water and Sewer – Alderman Amundson

Law Enforcement – Alderman Little

Streets – Alderman Neumann
Discussion of full-time or part-time Street employee. Part-time employee would be hired at $11.50 per hour compensation with requirement of CDL.
Public Buildings / Parks – Alderman Davis
Massey Roofing, Bayview, and River City will be providing estimates of roof damage from hailstorm. If estimates are more than $20,000.00 a public bid will be opened. Projects will be prevailing wage.
Looking into playground grant to upgrade equipment. Will keep us posted.
Fire – Alderman Neuhaus
We have received the bunkers but wrong equipment shipped so they will be returned.
Citywide Garage sale is not being promoted. Residents are still abled to have, following social distancing guidelines, but a map will not be provided.
Cookout will still take place with no indoor seating. Food will be single serve. Risk Management is ok with this plan.

CONSENT AGENDA:
APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA:
Alderman Little made motion, seconded by Alderman Davis, to approve the Consent Agenda in its entirety. Roll call vote: Ayes: Alderman Neumann, Davis, Amundson, Little, and Neuhaus. Nays – none. Motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS:
Alderman Amundson made motion to approve payment to Midwest Meter for replacement meter with payment not to exceed $2,200.00. Alderman Little seconded. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL:
Ken Garrison with Metal Medics would like to use the back half of the property at 150 Joliet Rd. Mr. Garrison would like a Special Use permit to erect a Tent and Storage pod for 90 days.
Straw Poll: Alderman Little, Neumann, Neuhaus, Davis and Amundson approval. Special Meeting to be held on August 3, 2020 at 6:00pm prior to Committee Meeting for final approval and vote.
Dale Hamm addressed the Council asking if anyone had questions or concerns with upcoming Spook Hollow. He will present an action plan no later than Labor Day Weekend for final decision.
Alderman Little made a motion to enter executive session for purpose of discussing actual litigation and personnel, seconded by Alderman Neuhaus. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion Passed
Council exited regular session at 7:41p.m. and entered executive session at 7:41p.m.
Council resumed regular session at 7:55 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
Alderman Little made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann to adjourn the regular City Council Meeting at 8:07 p.m. Voice Votes: All Ayes. Motion passed.
