North Pekin Volunteer Fire Department responded to 35 calls in 2018 - 20.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in North Pekin included 21 fires - 12 structure fires, three vehicle fires and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $589,000 in fire loss - or about $28,048 per fire.

The department also received 14 false calls.
