Republican House candidate Mark Luft has won his election bid for District 91 defeating Democratic opponent John Grys.
Luft took to her Facebook page to express gratitude to voters for the win.
“I am humbled by the election results and appreciate the support from people all throughout the district who made this Victory possible. Illinois’ problems are pressing, but I look forward to getting our economy back on track, balancing the state's budget, and enacting ethics reform,” he wrote.
Grys conceeded and shared a message with his supporters on Facebook and thanked his team for their tireless work.
“Thank you to EVERYONE who got signatures for me to even get on the ballot,: he wrote. “Thank you to all of you who found me, and reached out to find out who I am and what I am about. Thank you to all of you who told your friends and family about what we were trying to do, and got them to vote for us. Thank you to EVERY single person who voted for me.”
