The second half of 2020: Home prices in Mason City increased

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2020 in Mason City rose by $750 while total sales increased by 7.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2020, there were 14 homes sold, with a median sale price of $82,250 - a 0.9% increase over the $81,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 13 homes sold in Mason City in the second half of 2019.

The median sales tax in Mason City for the most recent year with available data, 2019, was $1,481, approximately 1.8% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2020.
