City of Marquette Heights City Council Met June 14.

CALL TO ORDER
The City Council meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M by Mayor Hamm.
ROLL CALL
Aldermen present for Roll Call: Alderman Little, Naugle, Neuhaus, Greiner and Neumann.
Also present were Clerk Steele, Attorney Herman, Public Works Director Brown, Police Chief Merritt, Fire Chief Fortier, Assistant Fire Chief Hermacinski, Building Inspector Dearborn and Office Manager Minson.
Absent: Alderman Amundson.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS
Mayor
No report.
Clerk
Dropbox has been installed on all laptops and is ready for use. More training to come.
Treasurer
Audit is still in process.
Attorney
No report.
Communication
Clerk Steele read a Thank You card from Krystal Depew.
Citizens Wishing to Address the Council

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
Water and Sewer – Alderman Neuhaus
Phase 1 of Tower project is complete. Phases 2 and 3 will be started once cleaning and inspection has been done.
Old meters are being replaced throughout the City.
Neptune 360 software training will take place in July.
Law Enforcement – Alderman Naugle
Squad 17-1 cameras installed, working well and great quality.
Streets – Alderman Little
Hustler mower has no power, no compression. Currently at A to Z for repair. Will update.
New hire training.
Street sweeping done from spray patching.
Weeds are being sprayed throughout City.
John Deere tractor has a fuel leak.
Public Buildings / Parks – Alderman Greiner
Gutter still leaking at City Office. Will be getting quotes for repair.
Liberty Hall ceiling tiles that are damaged have been removed. Getting bids for new tile.
Fire – Alderman Amundson
Engine 311 is being looked at tomorrow for sale.
Planning – Alderman Neumann
Alderman Neumann reminded everyone to complete their sexual harassment training.
Executive session requested to discuss setting a price for real estate.
CONSENT AGENDA:
Approve May 24th, 2021 Regular Council Meeting minutes.
Approve Bi-Monthly expenditures in the amount of $97,220.44.
Approve monthly Fire Engine 313 loan payment in the amount of $3,119.79 to Better Banks.
Approve monthly Police Squad 21-1 loan payment in the amount of $757.36 to Better Banks.
APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA:
Alderman Little made motion, seconded by Alderman Greiner to approve the consent agenda in its entirety. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes, motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS:
Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Little, to approve payment to Tazewell County in the amount of $820.00 for the 2nd annual installment for Digital Orthophotography.
Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Little, to approve payment to Force Masonry in the amount of $17,650.00 for concrete work.
Alderman Little made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann, to approve payment to Altorfer in the amount of $4,891.72 for repairs to the Genie Lift.
Alderman Little made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neuhaus, to approve payment to Clarke in the amount of $3,630.14 for mosquito treatment chemicals.
Alderman Greiner made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neuhaus, to approve amended Ordinance 919 for dog park hours.
Alderman Neumann made a motion, seconded by Alderman Little, to approve TJ Reynolds as full-time admin employee at $15.50 hourly wage.
Alderman Naugle made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neuhaus, to approve payment to Velde Ford in the amount of $1,648.12 for repair work to 17-1.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS PERTAINING TO THE CITY
Executive session will be held to discuss setting a price for sale of real estate.
I3 Broadband project will need a statewide franchise ordinance. Draft proposal to adopt from IML ordinance will be provided to discuss in committee. Current ordinance was taken to engineer for a rough draft updates.
Alderman Neumann made motion, seconded by Alderman Greiner to enter executive session. Roll Call Votes: All ayes. Motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
Alderman Little made motion, seconded by Alderman Greiner, to adjourn the regular City Council Meeting at 8:21pm. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
