19

Bradley University Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 1

Bradley Men's and Women's Basketball fans once again will be able to experience game day in person when the 2021-22 season tips off, beginning with the annual Bradley Basketball Red-White Scrimmage, presented by Dac's Smokehouse, Oct. 13 at Renaissance Coliseum.

The Red-White Scrimmage will be the first of two preseason events showcasing both the Bradley Men's and Women's Basketball teams together.  In addition, the two squads will host their lone public exhibition games Nov. 4 as part of a doubleheader at the Peoria Civic Center's Carver Arena.

Admission will be free for the Bradley Basketball Red-White Scrimmage with doors at Renaissance Coliseum opening at 6 p.m. and the event program beginning at 6:30.  While a full event program will be announced as the Scrimmage approaches, both teams will be introduced to the fans and will participate in intrasquad scrimmages.

Both teams will play a closed scrimmage versus another NCAA Division I opponent, then will host their lone exhibition games Nov. 4 at Carver Arena.  The Bradley women will take on McKendree, coached by former Braves assistant Keri Kerkhoff, at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game versus Illinois-Springfield at approximately 8 o'clock.  The women's exhibition game versus McKendree will be included with the ticket for the men's basketball exhibition between the Braves and Prairie Stars.

Bradley Men's Basketball, which won the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in 2019 and 2020, is preparing for its 118th season.  The 2021-22 campaign will be the 47th season for Bradley Women's Basketball, which claimed its first MVC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021.
