City of Pekin City Council met Sept. 20.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Cloyd.
Roll was called. All Council Members were physically present except Council Member Hilst who was absent. A quorum was declared.

Motion by Council Member Orrick, seconded by Council Member Hohimer that the agenda be approved as presented. On roll call vote, all present voted Aye.
PUBLIC INPUT
City Manager Mark Rothert reported to Council that he had discussed with Mark Peterson, the Strategic Plan facilitator in 2019, to contract with the City for a planning session with council members and staff members for 2021. Mr. Peterson would use same format of meeting with each member of the Council to review topics, problems, needs and then meet as a joint group to prioritize the goals. The Manager received direction to proceed with arrangements.
EXECUTIVE SESSION 5 ILCS 120/2 (C) (5.) PURCHASE OF PROPERTY AND (11.) LITIGATION
Council received notice of a special meeting on September 17, 2021 for the purpose of moving to closed session 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) 11. Litigation and 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) 5. Purchase for Real Property.
Motion by Council Member Orrick, seconded by Council Member Hohimer that the Council move to Executive Session at 6:10 p.m. to discuss 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) 11. Litigation and 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) 5. Purchase for Real Property. On roll call vote, all present voted Aye.
ADJOURN
No further business to come before the Council motion by Council Member Orrick, seconded by Council Member Abel to adjourn. Motion carried viva voce. Mayor Luft adjourned the meeting in open session.
