City of Minonk City Council Public Works Committee met Nov. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER: The November 22, 2021 meeting of the Minonk City Council Public Works Committee was held at City Hall and called to order by Chairman Trent Ruestman at 5:00 P.M.

ROLL CALL: Those in attendance: Chairman Trent Ruestman and Alderwoman Julie McNamara. Absent: Alderman Travis Nix

Also in attendance: City Administrator Bill Moline, Public Works Supervisor Jake Anderson and Operator in training Kaleb Garber

REGULAR AGENDA:

Committee discussed current Public Works projects and potential projects for consideration in the 2022-23 budget that can be part of the grant application Alderwoman McNamara is working on. Committee agreed to move forward with discussing more the following items for consideration in the 2022-23 budget, as to be in the narrative of the grant application.

o 5-Year Comprehensive Plan – est. $40,000

o MFT Resurfacing Chestnut Street – est. $250,000 - $300,000

o Renewal of Sewer Bond - $400,000

o Water Meter Replacement Project – est. $250,000

o Downtown Business Sidewalk Replacement Project – est. $400,000 -$500,000 o Storm/Sanitary Tile Improvement – est. $850,000 – based on grant funds received will see how much can be improved and have as part of the 5-year Comprehensive Plan

Committee discussed having the 24-inch Sewer/Sanitary tile inspected for roughly $14,000 to see what repairs may be needed prior to possibly lining this tile. Recommendation will be made to approve moving forward with this unbudgeted item.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: None

ADJOURNMENT: Councilwoman Julie McNamara moved that having completed the business of the Minonk Public Works Committee, motioned to adjourn at 5:29 P.M., seconded by Alderman Trent Ruestman.
