Junior Josh Kirkham and graduate transfer Aaeri Krishnan closed Monday's opening day of play at the Dove Mountain Intercollegiate tied for ninth in the individual standings when the second round was suspended due to darkness as Bradley Men's Golf opened its spring schedule.
Kirkham led the Braves with an opening-round three-over 75 at the par-72 Golf Club at Dove Mountain. He and Krishnan both played through 12 holes of the day's second round when action was halted due to darkness. The pair are currently tied for ninth in the field at eight-over par.
Krishnan was one shot back of Kirkham after 18 holes with the grad transfer carding a four-over 76 in the first round to start the spring season.
The junior combo of Roy Radke and Nick Armbrust fired matching 85's in the first round. Radke sits in 33rd when play resumes in the morning at 23-over with five holes remaining in his second round. Armbrust is one back of Radke in 34th at 24-over par with two holes to play. Junior John Stillman rounded out the team scoring for the Braves, closing Monday's action in 36th at +28 with three holes left in his second round.
Sophomore Brady Kreiter is in the field as an individual and was one hole from finishing his second round. He is currently at +19 in a tie for 28th.
Bradley was fourth in the team standings after an opening-round 321, seven shots back of Missouri Valley Conference rival Northern Iowa, which was third at 314. Tournament-host Valparaiso had the low first-round score (303), but North Dakota State turned in a four-over 292 in the second round. Both Valpo and North Dakota State finished their second rounds with the Bison holding a 14-shot lead on the Beacons atop the team standings heading into Tuesday's final round.
Play at the Dove Mountain Intercollegiate will resume at 9 a.m. (CST) Tuesday morning with the Braves finishing up their second round. The third and final round will immediately follow the conclusion of the event's second round.
