City of Chillicothe Buildings Committee met Aug. 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Buildings Committee met in person at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.

Committee members present: Alderperson Vanbruwaene, Alderperson Bredeman, City Clerk Margaret Hurd and JB Culbertson

Others in attendance: Consultant Don White and Mayor Mike Hughes, Alderperson Sharp

Chairperson Vanbruwaene stated the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the scope of the committee and architectural services.

Consultant White explained the architectural process to the committee. Discussion was held on the process.

Consultant White then led discussion on how to communicate to the public. Consultant White will take all the information that was discussed and create an “elevator speech” that will help the committee communicate the project to the public.

Consultant White led discussion on the Scope of Service that Keach Architectural Firm will provide.

Consultant White explained the four components to a project: Form (aesthetics), Function (use), Economy (cost) and Time (Schedule). Consultant White then led the committee in an exercise discussing the importance of Form Function, Economy and Time and ranked the importance of each. He explained the four components to a project: Form (aesthetics), Function (use), Economy (cost) and Time (Schedule).

Results of the exercise was: Form 13%, Function 40%, Economy 35% and Time 12%. Consultant White will take back the information from the exercise and break it down for the next meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 5:55pm.
