New Business:

1. Speeding Concern 600 Block of Ann Eliza St.

A citizen contacted the Committee asking for consideration of a reduced speed limit in this block. She feels that traffic is traveling up to 50 mph in this location. She also asked about the speed monitoring device and more enforcement. After discussion of this item, Justin made a motion to place the speed monitoring device in this area and also for the Police Department to step up enforcement. Trent seconded the motion. All in favor.

2. Parking Concern 1300 Block of West Shore Dr.

A citizen contacted the Committee regarding vehicles parked on both sides of the street in the 1300 Block of West Shore Drive, especially on the weekends. She feels that when vehicles are parked there it impairs the line of sight when pulling out of driveways and there is only room for one vehicle to drive down the street. She is asking for consideration of parking being limited to only one side of the street in this location. After discussion of this item, Justin made a motion to table this item until the next meeting to allow the Committee to continue monitoring this location. John seconded the motion. All in favor.

3. Traffic Concern Intersection of N. 11th St. and Willow St.

James DiDinato (1000 N. 11th St.) was in attendance at the meeting regarding this item. He stated that he and his neighbors are concerned with vehicles speeding through this intersection and squealing tires. He said that vehicles traveling south on N. 11th St. run the stop sign when they are turning east onto Willow St. or when they go straight through the intersection. Crash history indicates that over the last 5 years there have been 3 crashes involving vehicles running the stop sign. After discussion of this item, Justin stated that he will make a request to paint stop bars in this location. John made a motion for the Police Department to monitor traffic in this location. Trent seconded the motion. All in favor.

Around the Table

A citizen had reached out after the agenda had been posted. She has a concern with the intersection of N. 16th St. and Matilda St. She stated that drivers are confused with who’s turn it is to go. She also stated that someone who lives along there parks vehicles and trailers on both sides of the street and it blocks visibility. John stated that he will monitor this area. It was noted that there is a stop sign on Matilda St. in this location.

The Committee appreciates the road closure updates from the Engineering Department. John asked to let him know if traffic control is needed.
