City of Eureka City Council met Aug. 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Eureka City Council convened in regular session on August 15, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Eric Lind called the meeting to order and after a moment of silence led The Pledge of Allegiance and then directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were Aldermen Chambliss, Germann, Klaus, Peterson, Teegarden, Williams and Wilson. Aldermen Linda Logan was absent. Also in attendance were Lynn Hinnen, Treasurer; Eric Hasselbacher, Director of Public Works; Chief Alex Collinge and Melissa Brown, City Services Coordinator.

Moved by Wilson, second by Peterson, to approve the minutes of the August 1, 2022, regular meeting of the City Council. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Wilson, Peterson, Chambliss, Germann, Klaus, Teegarden and Williams all voting Aye.

Moved by Teegarden, second by L. Klaus, to approve the Treasurer's Report for the month ending July, 2022. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Teegarden, L. Klaus, Chambliss, Germann, Peterson, Wilson and Williams all voting Aye.

The Mayor asked for public comments on any action to be taken on Agenda items. There were none.

Moved by Chambliss, second by Germann, to approve and pay the bills as the City's obligation in the amount of $71,248.42. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Chambliss, Germann, Klaus, Peterson, Teegarden, Williams and Wilson all voting Aye

Moved by Wilson, second by Peterson, to approve Ordinance 22-10, an ordinance accepting the bid for real property known at 414 Bullock Street. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Wilson, Peterson, Chambliss, Germann, Klaus, Teegarden, Williams, and Lind all voting Aye.

Moved by Teegarden, second by Wilson, to consider proceeding with sewer lift station replacement project and concrete work. Kary, Superintendent of Sewer Plant, was here to answer questions. This was budgeted. The total is $75,620.00. Passed on roll call vote with Aldermen Teegarden, Wilson, Chambliss, Germann, Klaus, Peterson, and Williams all voting Aye.

Committee Reports:

Chairman Chambliss of the Budget Committee: No report

Chairman Chambliss of the Administration and Personnel Committee: No report

Chairman Teegarden of the Enterprise Committee: No report

Chairman Peterson of the Maintenance Committee: The Hilldale project is done. A lot of time was spent on the Disc Golf Tournament. The storm system at the Lake is done.

Chairman L. Klaus of the Public Safety Committee: The Chief reported that the police were busy with the Disc Golf Tournament last week.

Chairman Germann of the Park and Recreation Committee: No report Chairman Teegarden of the Economic Development Committee: No report Chairman Mayor Lind of the Liquor Committee: No report

New Business: Melissa reported that the City-wide Garage Sale is September 10.

Electronic Recycling will be September 17.

Open House at City Hall will be October 14. This is the Taste of Eureka also.

Chambliss suggested that we have a streaming web cam at the Lake. The Park Committee will discuss this.

Public Comments: None

There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
