City of Chillicothe Human Resource Committee met Aug. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resource Committee met at 5: 00 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.

Present: Chairperson Gehrig, Mayor Hughes, Alderperson Vanbruwaene, Alderperson Sharp, Alderperson Connor

Chairman Gehrig called the meeting to order at 5: 00 p. m.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Sergeant Douglas Hahn of 205 N. Bradley Avenue requested that he be considered for the Police Chief position.

Sergeant Nik Bridges of 1215 W. Pine Street requested that he be considered for the Police Chief position.

Darlene Kumph of 16510 Lakeview and President of the Police Chief Fund stated that she felt the officers of the Chillicothe Police Department be given the opportunity to apply for the Police Chief position as she was interested in the well- being of all of the officers.

Detective Jeremy Cooper of 1219 E. Hallock Hollow Road requested that he be considered for the Police Chief Position.

Alderperson Connor asked for clarification on the hiring process for the police chief position.

Mayor Hughes deemed that he would allow for interviews for the Police Chief position and a notice would be posted in the Chillicothe Police Department with details on how to apply.

Chairperson Gehrig made a motion to adjourn to a closed session to discuss personnel: appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal or specific employees — 5 ILCS 120/ 2r'( C) ( 1) second Alderperson Vanbruwaene at 5: 15 p. m.

The committee reconvened the open session at 6: 04 P. M., Alderperson Vanbruwaene made a motion to adjourn the open session meeting second Chairperson Gehrig and the motion was carried.

Chairperson adjourned the open session at 6: 04 P. M.
