City of Peoria Warming Centers and Holiday Closures
With inclement weather ahead, City wants to remind community members of warming centers
December 20, 2022 (Peoria, IL) The National Weather Service Office in Lincoln, Illinois has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Thursday Morning until late Friday night. Blizzard conditions and wind gusts as high as 50 miles per hour are possible.The City provides warming stations at the Police Department Lobby and at Fire Stations throughout Peoria.• Peoria Police Department Lobby, 600 SW Adams Street, Open Monday-Friday from 9 AM- 5PM• All Peoria Fire Department locations also serve as warming locations from 7 AM- 8 PM. Please note that since these locations are Fire Stations, any persons using the station may have to leave during an active call.The City wants to remind community members of the Heart of Illinois United Way 2-1-1 service. People can call 2-1-1 (or 309-999-4029) for support and assistance in a variety of categories.Please note: City offices will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2022, and Monday, January 2, 2023.
