City of Chillicothe Shademaker Committee met Oct. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Present-Trish Connor, Barb O'Connor, Kim Murnan, Maria Geiger, Mary Johnson, Shawn Sutherland, Megan Geiger -We accepted with regrets resignation of Lorna Berchtold

We nominated replacement member of Megan Geiger also to serve as secretary unanimously

1. Budget-current balance $13,900.36 All Projects complete except for a paid tree installment

2. Light Up Chillicothe Contest-two winner categories

Whimsical-$100.00-local business gift cards-Shademaker expense

Traditional -$100.00-local business gift cards -Marketing/Tourism expense

Advertising in Hometown Voice, Facebook-City, Shademaker, and Police Sites, and 4th Street Message Center

Entrance forms distributed at City hall, Pearce, Library, and Geigers

Promotion of Contest at 11/17/22 Christmas Parade.

3. Downtown Planters-will begin Christmas conversion on 11/1/22 with a budget cap of$100.00 per planter

4. Maintenance of Shademaker/ City Sculptor Carvings.

Scheduled Spring 23 update maintenance of walnut, Lookout Tower, and K 9 Josh

5. Moffitt Park-approved $300.00 expenditure for signage expense for Eagle Scout Sponsored Project. Discussion ensued for need of additional signage for proposed trail updates.

6.Downtown Walkway-discussion on getting permission to hang and then purchase a XL Grey Ghost mobile form to adorn walkway seasonally. Also will have purchased picnic table installed Spring, 2023

7. Veterans Memorial/2nd St. -moving to new site rejected by Cemetery so will remain. Discussion ensued on breezeway area beautification ideas.

8.Spring Projects-City Park, Parking Lots Rear, and Walkway (Potential, Upcoming)

Discussion ensued on potential updates to city park including: new fountain, stage updating- including landscaping

Parking Lot Pillar Planters have been purchased and will be installed Spring, 2023.

9. Potential Future Projects-2023

Garden Walk,

Grey Ghost "Ghostest with the Mostest Halloween Decoration Contest

Sycamore Trails Park water fountain -with some fundraiser money already raised for cost.
