Peoria Standard

There were 35 offenders released on parole during 2021 that live in Fulton County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Peoria Standard.

The data shows 26 men and nine women were released in Fulton County. Of the parolees, one was a veteran, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old woman convicted of a crime against a person in 2021, and the oldest was a 69-year-old woman convicted of homicide in 1998.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Nancy J. Gilson. She was convicted of homicide in 1998 when she was 44 years old. She is now 69.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
