Q1 2022 Recap: 11 parolees from Tazewell County convicted of property crimes set for release

There were 11 offenders convicted of property crimes living in Tazewell County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows nine men and two women were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for property crimes, one was a veteran, and the median age was 31. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Troy Johnson. He was convicted in 2015 when he was 38 years old. He is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of property crimes were paroled during the first quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
