Q3 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from Fulton County convicted of sex crimes set for release

There were two offenders convicted of sex crimes living in Fulton County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 32. One parolee was a 32-year-old man sentenced in 2022, and the oldest was a 32-year-old man sentenced in 2022.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jeremy T. Mentzer. He was convicted in 2022 when he was 31 years old. He is now 32.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
