City of Chillicothe Plan Commission met March 7.

3. PUBLIC HEARING: The purpose of this meeting is to consider and make recommendations regarding rezoning 1217 Santa Fe from R-1 Special Use to C-2 General Retail PIN 05-20-403-006 (1217 Santa Fe)
4. Swearing in of interested parties: Ron Hedden

6. Discussion: Dennis questioned the reasoning behind C-2 instead of C-1, stating that C-2 was typically used for more commercial/retail areas instead of the mostly residential area where the property resides. Ron Hedden stated that they must have been instructed to use C-2 somewhere in the process, because they didn't know the reasoning behind it. Mayor Hughs questioned whether C-2 would allow for more use in the future, but the Commission felt C-1 was still a better fit for the area. Shaun made a motion to recommend to the City Council to rezone from R-1 Special use, to C-1. Scott seconded, motion carried unanimously.
