City of Minonk City Council met April 3.

CALL TO ORDER: The April 3, 2023 meeting of the Minonk City Council was held at City Hall and was called to order by Mayor Marcoline at 6:00 pm.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Marcoline
ROLL CALL BY CITY CLERK: Those in attendance: Alderpersons Lisa Junker, Julie McNamara, Travis Nix, Russell Ruestman, Trent Ruestman. ABSENT: Jonathan Stears.
Also in attendance: City Administrator Bill Moline, City Clerk Leta Janssen
CONSENT AGENDA:
A. To approve and file the following:
1. Minutes of March 6 and March 20, 2023 City Council Meeting
2. March 2023 Accounts Payable paid in April in the amount of $81,424.48
3. February 2023 City Collector’s Report in the amount of $180,449.18
4. February 2023 City Clerk’s Report in the amount of $230,352.37
5. February 2023 City Treasurer’s Report in the amount of $4,301,224.92

ADMINISTRATORS REPORT: Moline updated Council on the following:
The new ambulance is expected to arrive in July
Soil testing has begun on the Studer land solar farm
Public Works employees worked overtime on Saturday to repair the broken water line and notify affected residents of the boil order.
Local contractor Sidebottom will be repairing the chimney at the ambulance shed.
A Budget Public Hearing will be held on April 17, 2023 beginning at 5:50 PM, followed by City Council Meeting.
11 million gallons of water went through the treatment plant due to the recent heavy rain
OLD AND UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS: None
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Carol Hood expressed her and her customers’ appreciation for the businesses in town. She suggested a promotional film be created and used to attract visitors.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: T Ruestman shared the Public Works Committee met prior to the Council meeting and determined items to be included in the new budget.
CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS: McNamara commended the city employees for their handling of the water line repair and boil order notification.
MAYOR COMMENTS: None
ADJOURNMENT: Alderperson Nix moved that having completed the business meeting of the Minonk City Council the meeting is adjourned at 6:25 pm, second by McNamara.
