City of Chillicothe Public Works Committee met April 5.

The public works committee met on April 5, at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall. Present: Chairman Gould, Alderperson Bredeman, Alderperson Vanbruwaene, Alderperson Sharp, Alderperson Braun, Mayor Hughes, Superintendent of Public Works Sutherland, Office Manager Passage, Engineer David Horton
Chairman Gould called the meeting to order at 4:50 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No Public Comment
PURPOSE
Budget 22-23 - Office Manager Passage reported for the month of March the expense percentages should be at 91.6% and the following expense percentages for the Month of March are as follows: Road & Bridge - 33.97%
Motor Fuel Tax - 38.79%
Water-56.92%
Sewer - 71.05%
High Usage Waiver - Nothing to report
Lien Report - There is one potential property 1417 Hoyt, that will be sent to the attorney to file.
Spray patching bids -Engineer Horton explained he received two bids for spray patching.
A discussion ensued regarding the bids. Engineer Horton advised that Midstate has a better rock oil ratio. Superintendent Sutherland stated that the City has used Midstate and like their work and recommends that we accept Midstate's bid. The consensus of the committee was to take to the City Council the recommendation to accept the bid from Midstate for the 2023 Spray Patching.
Project Update- Engineer Horton advised the committee that the plans for the Sycamore Street improvement has been submitted to I.D.O.T. He advised that due to cost, the contractor will haul any dirt from that location to another city location determined by the Superintendent of Public works. The site where the dirt will be hauled to will be inspected.
Engineer Horton advised that the MFT paving is out for Bid and he is working on the TIF project for the water main on Pine.
Superintendent Sutherland reported that Hoerr Construction will be starting the repair of the piling this week and should complete the project within this fiscal year.
Alderperson Braun asked about the VFW parking lot. Superintendent Sutherland state the Engineer Horton has provided the potential cost to the VFW.
OLD BUSINESS
Update - Santa Fe Wells- Superintendent Sutherland reported that for the Old Santa Fe well all material has been installed and the next step will be to do the pump test. He advised that the New Santa Fe well is also ready for the pump test. He stated that the test will allow water to be pumped for a 24 hour. A discussion was held regarding where the water will go and to take precaution as to not to damage any surrounding buildings.
Update - Chestnut Wells - Superintendent Sutherland reported that a prime valve is being relocated. A discussion was held regarding the increased pumping capability. Superintendent Sutherland stated that the city should have 600 gallons per min more capability once all three wells are completed.
