The Ordinance Amending the Code of Ordinances Concerning Zoning Certificates and Closing Letter Fees passed City Council. As of Monday, October 16th, Closing Letters will be issued from the Building and Code Department. Applications are requested to be submitted as soon as the property is listed for sale but not less than 30 days prior to sale.
Building/Code will perform a Minimal Code/Life Safety inspection to the property and can share a checklist of what the inspection will entail. Zoning Certificates will be issued to all properties inspected and it must be displayed on the property.
Five business days prior to closing, applicant must call Water Department at 847-360-0535 to schedule a Final Water Meter Reading. That final bill and any/all liens must be paid before the Closing Letter is issued.
