Census Bureau: 1.9% of people in Stark County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 5,436 citizens living in Stark County in 2021, 98.1% said they were only one race, while 1.9% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Stark County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 96.2% or 5,228 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 0.9% and totaled 50 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Stark County is 3.9% lower than the state average, which stands at 5.8%.
