In an effort to bring more funding and resources into the 93rd District, Representative Weaver has taken to social media to highlight grant opportunities through the #NOFOFriday campaign.

A "NOFO," or Notice of Funding Opportunity, is a formal notice issued by the State of Illinois to announce grant opportunities. Every Friday, Representative Weaver will showcase new or current grant opportunities being offered by various State agencies, ranging from economic development and tourism to education and emergency management.

The first grant being highlighted is the Community Development Block Grant - Economic Development Program offered by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). This funding opportunity is specifically designed to support for-profit and not-for-profit private organizations in creating and retaining jobs, particularly for low to moderate income workers.

Applications for this grant are accepted on a year-long basis, with funding provided by the Federal government. The award range for this grant is up to $1,000,000, and there are no cost-sharing or matching requirements.
