Mason County ranks 71st in total sales taxes paid in Illinois during April

Mason County taxpayers ranked 71st in total sales taxes paid per county in April, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Mason County residents paid $150,871 in sales taxes during April.

Mason County ranked 70th in the Prairie State the month before, with $123,444 spent in sales taxes.

The County School Facility Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Mason County residents in April.

Illinois is currently the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 39.83% higher than the national average.
