Beginning on Monday, March 4, lane closures will take effect on W Glen Avenue between N Dawn Drive and N University Street. These lane closures are necessary for preliminary pavement work for entrance accesses and crossovers as part of phase two of the Glen Avenue Reconstruction Project.
The closures of the eastbound and westbound passing lanes for this work will last between two to three weeks, weather permitting.
Drivers should exercise extra caution in the area, follow posted speed limits, and watch for these lane closures. The use of alternative routes, when possible, is advised.
The Glen Avenue Reconstruction Project is a two-year, $10.5 million project that includes the replacement of the existing pavement, new curb and gutter, storm sewer improvements, and upgraded pedestrian accommodations.
The first phase of the project, W War Memorial Drive to N Dawn Drive, was completed in December 2023.
