Earlier this year, the Kewanee community lost one of its greatest ambassadors and entrepreneurs. In a statement, it was revealed that "Philip Hackman “Phil” Good passed away on February 20 at the age of 89."
Good’s Furniture, a longstanding establishment in Kewanee, has been a pillar of the community for decades. "Good’s Furniture is currently in its 129th year of operation," showcasing the enduring legacy of the Good family.
Under Phil Good's guidance, the family business flourished, evolving into a destination for shoppers near and far. Described as a dedicated community member, Phil Good actively contributed to various local initiatives aimed at improving education and enhancing the quality of life in Kewanee.
"The members of the Illinois House of Representatives have honored the memory of Philip Hackman Good with House Resolution 673," recognizing his significant contributions to the community. Reflecting on his impact, it was stated, "We mourn the passing of Phil Good and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew or loved him."
As Kewanee bids farewell to a beloved figure, Phil Good's legacy as an ambassador and entrepreneur will continue to inspire generations to come.
