Komatsu America Corp.’s facility in Peoria has emerged victorious in the 2024 "Makers Madness" competition, hosted by the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. The announcement was made that the massive mining truck produced by Komatsu was the winning entry among more than 200 other submissions.

The truck, boasting a hauling capacity of up to 400 tons and weighing over 1.3 million pounds, has been crowned the "Coolest Thing Made in Illinois" for 2024. The recognition highlights the exceptional craftsmanship and innovation displayed by Komatsu in manufacturing this impressive vehicle.
