Rep. Weaver Recognizes Pekin Police Officer Honored by Illinois Army National Guard

Pekin Police Officer Terry Lair has been recognized as the Illinois Army National Guard’s Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, announced by Rep. Weaver. Sgt. Lair showcased his skills at the Illinois Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition held in Sparta from April 12-14.

The competition, which tested various attributes including physical endurance, mental toughness, leadership abilities, analytical skills, and decision-making skills, culminated in a challenging 12-mile road march with full military gear and rucksack. Sgt. Lair's outstanding performance has earned him the opportunity to compete at the upcoming Midwest Regional Best Warrior Competition in two weeks.

In acknowledging Sgt. Lair's achievement, Rep. Weaver expressed gratitude for his dedication and hard work, stating, "Sgt. Lair, thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our country and the residents of Pekin! We are truly fortunate to have you representing our community and helping keep us safe."

The recognition of Officer Terry Lair's accomplishments serves as a testament to his commitment to both his duties as a law enforcement officer in Pekin and his service to the nation through the Illinois Army National Guard.
