Downtown road closures scheduled for Labor Day Parade

Numerous roads throughout Downtown will be closed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, due to the Labor Day Parade sponsored by the West Central Illinois Labor Council.

Parking restrictions will be in effect along the parade route. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and patience and use alternative routes and marked detours.

Road Closures – 8 a.m.

• S.W. Monroe Street will be closed between N. William Kumpf Boulevard and Main Street.

Road Closures – 9:45 a.m.

• Main Street will be closed between Hamilton Boulevard and S.W. Water Street.

• S.W. Madison Avenue will be closed between Main Street and Hamilton Boulevard.

• N.E. Jefferson Avenue will be closed at Hamilton Boulevard.

• S.W. Adams Street will be closed at Liberty Street.

• S.W. Washington Street will be closed between Liberty Street and Hamilton Boulevard.

• S.W. Water Street will be closed between Main Street and Eaton Street.

• Hamilton Boulevard will be closed at S.W. Water Street.

• Fulton Street will be closed at S.W. Monroe Street.

Detour Routes

• Through traffic on S.W. Adams Street should travel north on N. William Kumpf Boulevard, east on N.E. Perry Avenue, and south on Fayette Street.

• Through traffic on N.E. Jefferson Avenue should travel north on Spalding Avenue, west on N.E. Glendale Avenue, and south on N. William Kumpf Boulevard.

Parade Route

The Labor Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. on S.W. Monroe Street between N. William Kumpf Boulevard and Main Street, traveling down Main Street before ending at S.W. Water Street.
