Beginning at 7 a.m. and lasting until 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, portions of S.W. Water Street will be closed for the Bridge to Bridge Run sponsored by Illinois Valley Striders.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution along the race route and consider using alternative routes. Through traffic should utilize S.W. Washington Street as a detour.

Road closures include:

- S.W. Water Street will be closed to all traffic between Liberty Street and Harrison Street.

- S.W. Water Street will be closed to all traffic between Commercial Street and Walnut Street.

- No through traffic will be allowed on Commercial Street from Harrison Street to S.W. Water Street.

Access to the 401 Water Street Parking Deck will remain open between Harrison Street and Commercial Street for residents needing entry into the parking deck, but no through traffic will be permitted.

For those needing access to the Liberty Street Riverfront Parking Lot, entry will be available from Liberty Street only; entry or exit from Harrison Street or Commercial Street will not be permitted.

The race route starts in front of RC Outfitters on S.W. Water Street, proceeds along the Rock Island Trail before crossing S.W. Water Street at Commercial Street, continues north on the Rock Island Trail across S.W. Washington Street, and then enters the multi-use path on the Bob Michel Bridge.
