Peoria, IL – The Peoria City/County Joint Commission on Racial Justice and Equity (RJE) will host a Community Forum on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Alpha Park Public Library, 3527 South Airport Road, Bartonville, IL 61607. All residents of Peoria County — including individuals, families and representatives of neighborhood associations, places of worship and other community organizations — are invited to participate.
The third Community Engagement Forum will provide another opportunity for the public to share stories and relay concerns regarding racial justice and equity within the RJE Commission’s eight areas of focus: Child & Youth Development, Economic Development & Jobs, Environment & Climate, Health & Human Services, Quality Housing, Information Technology, Justice, and Transportation & Mobility. It follows the Commission’s first Community Engagement Forum held last November at Neighborhood House.
RJE Commission members and partners will be on hand to listen and gather feedback to inform strategic plans and partnerships that advance racial justice and equity — and seek to make Peoria County a more livable and equitable community for all its residents.
The media is encouraged to attend and report on the outcomes of this important community event.
