Jeff Jenkins, Ward 1 Alderperson - Mayor Pro Tem | City of Chillicothe

City of Chillicothe Police Commission met July 30.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 10:02 A.M. by Chairman, Gary Fyke. The following members were present:

a. Gary Fyke, Beau Ledbetter, Chuck Vail, Denise Passage, Chief Cooper, and secretary, Shayne Jezek.

b. Absent: no one.

2. Approval of Minutes: Beau made a motion to approve the minutes of April 23, 2024; Chuck second. The motion carried, as all voted in favor. Beau made a motion to approve the minutes of June 18, 2024; Chuck second. The motion carried, as all voted in favor.

3. Unfinished Business:

a. Chief Cooper gave an update on the following: there are 2 new applicants; William Benson and Keith Burwell, and they will remain on file; Officer Farrance's probation period will be ending soon, and Chief Cooper is recommending removing him from probation.

4. New Business:

a. Denise Passage presented the PowerPoint training of Sexual Harassment Prevention that is mandated by the State of Illinois. All participated in the training and signed a certificate of participation and completion.

5. Announcements: There were no new announcements at this time.

6. Public Comments: There were no public comments at this time.

7. Adjournment: The next meeting will be August 20, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. A motion to adjourn the meeting was made at 10:22 A.M; all voted in favor, and the motion carried.
