November 1, 2024, Peoria, IL – Lamarion K. Wright has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Christoper L. Tillman in September 2022. The incident occurred in the Taft Homes area, with police responding to reports of a shooting on NE Adams Street around 9 p.m. Officers discovered Tillman had been shot four times—three times in the back and once in the right arm—and he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The investigation revealed surveillance footage showing Wright pursuing and shooting Tillman. An officer and a witness identified Wright from the video, where he is seen holding a gun.

At the time of the crime, Wright was 16 years old and was charged as an adult due to the nature of the offense. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors have agreed to limit his prison sentence to 50 years. Sentencing is scheduled for December 30.
