FOIA Request to City of Marquette Heights Regarding New and Active Residential and Commercial Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Peoria Standard have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. We are seeking access to records detailing all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, up until the present date.
Specifically, we have requested information in the following fields for each permit: type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address where the work is being done, and contractor's name.
In addition to this, we have also requested a list of all currently active residential and commercial building permits along with their status. The same fields as mentioned above are required for these active permits as well.
As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, we believe access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We have therefore requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
