FOIA Request Sent to City of Cuba Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Cuba Regarding New and Active Residential and Commercial Building Permits on October 30, 2024.

In our continued efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Peoria Standard have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was sent to the City of Cuba on October 30, 2024.

The requested records pertain specifically to new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, up until the present date. The details sought include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address where the permit is applicable, and contractor's name.

Additionally, we have asked for a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. Similar details as those mentioned above are required for these active permits as well.

As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such public records is essential for us. We believe that we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals in light of our role in disseminating information.

We will continue to keep you updated as we gather more information about local government affairs in our area.
