Judge Jonathan Hawley confirmed by Senate for U.S. District Court in Illinois

Congressman Darin LaHood has extended his congratulations to Judge Jonathan Hawley following the U.S. Senate's confirmation of Hawley's appointment to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. This decision fills a judicial vacancy based in Peoria, Illinois.

LaHood expressed confidence in Judge Hawley's capabilities, stating, "Judge Hawley's distinguished legal and judicial career serving our community in Central Illinois makes him eminently qualified for the appointment to fill the vacancy in Peoria for the Central District of Illinois." He added, "I know that Judge Hawley has the temperament and respect for the rule of law to dutifully serve the Central District fairly, and I am pleased the Senate confirmed his appointment today."

The Senate's confirmation vote took place on Wednesday, November 13.
