Pekin Community High School senior Alina Vang is in the spotlight this week for her impressive array of activities and future aspirations. Vang plans to pursue a career in international business law and has shown a keen interest in public policy and local government operations, which led her to seek an internship.

Vang expressed a desire to learn about how politics can engage community support and outreach. Her involvement extends beyond her internship, as she participates in various school extracurriculars including the Speech Team, Key Club, Student Council, and Girl Up.

Her commitment also reaches into the community where she undertakes research on Asian American History, volunteers at the El Paso Voting Rights Museum, serves on the YWCA Women’s Board, provides English tutoring for immigrants, and works at the Pekin Public Library.
