City of El Paso City Council met Dec. 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
A Regular Meeting of the El Paso City Council was called to order by Mayor Price on December 2, 2024, at 7:00 PM.
Council Members Present: Brucker, Howard, Kilpatrick, Moore, Ragusa and Mool. Absent: None. It was reported the meeting is being recorded.
Present in Person: Director of Public Services Barry Kauther, Treasurer Linda Haas, Administrative Assistant Sandee Kessinger, Attorney James Stoller and Clerk David Fever. Also present: Karen Wilkey, Deb Karch, Dennis Tipsword and Jenny Kearney as the local press.
Also present by Zoom Application: Names on zoom software were Charlie G and Kim.
Pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited.
Approval of Agenda: Motion by Moore seconded by Brucker to approve the agenda as presented. Voice vote taken of all ayes.
Consent Agenda.
Council Minutes: The minutes of the November 18, 2024, City Council Meeting were presented in written form.
Register of Bills: The Register of Bills in the amount of $105,987.17 as of December 2nd was presented.
Approval of Consent Agenda: Motion by Moore, seconded by Ragusa to approve items on consent agenda. Voice call vote taken of all ayes.
Public Comments: None.
Old Business: None.
Representative Dennis Tipsword was present and thanked the City for a satellite office for his staff at El Paso City Hall. A staff member will normally be at City Hall on Tuesdays to meet with the public.
New Business:
Director of Public Service: Report was presented in written form.
Mayor's Report: The Mayor reminded all that the annual Christmas Walk will be Saturday. The Golf Card Parade will be on Saturday at 9:45 AM.
City Council Comments: Alderman Moore spoke of Pine Street resurfacing and how well it looks, as well as the parking lots at South Pointe and the amount of use for each.
Police Chief Report: Absent.
City Attorney: Attorney Stoller had nothing additional to report.
City Clerk: The Clerk reported on lottery drawing for ballot positions of the 3 Mayoral Candidates. The lottery was on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 9:00 AM. The order will be first Thad Mool, second Ronald Howard and Third George Moore.
Motion by Brucker seconded by Moore to adjourn. Voice vote taken of all ayes. The meeting was adjourned at 8:06 PM.
