January 23, 2025, Peoria, IL – Domincue D. Linwood, aged 26, has been convicted of First Degree Murder for the killing of Jamarion Lee in September 2022. The verdict was reached after a three-day trial during which a critical piece of evidence was presented to the jury: a dying declaration made by Lee and captured on a police officer's body-worn camera.

The incident occurred on September 3, 2022. At around 6:20 a.m., law enforcement responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire in the vicinity of West Adrian G. Hinton Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Lee on the porch of a nearby house suffering from gunshot wounds and lying in blood. Officers administered first aid and questioned Lee about his assailant. Before losing consciousness, Lee identified Linwood as "Dooder," naming him as the shooter.

Lee succumbed to his injuries at the hospital shortly thereafter. Twelve shell casings were collected at the scene, all fired from the same firearm, with Lee having sustained three gunshot wounds.

Linwood's sentencing is scheduled for March 19.
