February 4, 2025, Peoria, IL – A young man has been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm following an incident in which he fired a gun towards a group of juveniles. Isaiah C. Throgmorton, 19, was charged after the event that occurred last Thursday afternoon in the East Bluff area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The authorities responded to a ShotSpotter alert on Thursday at 5:15 pm in the 700 block of E. Frye. Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered that a vehicle had been hit by gunfire but found no victims present. Witnesses and surveillance footage revealed that Throgmorton exited a car at the intersection of Frye and Wisconsin and began shooting towards juveniles on the sidewalk before leaving in the same vehicle.
Throgmorton was apprehended on Friday and admitted to firing the weapon. He claimed his intention was not to harm anyone but merely to issue a warning.
Following a detention hearing held yesterday, the State's Petition to Detain was approved, resulting in Throgmorton's continued custody until his trial.
