Village of Bellevue Board of Trustees met Jan. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

I. CALL TO ORDER

The Mayor called the Village of Bellevue meeting to order at the Village Hall @ 6:00 p.m.

II. ROLL CALL

Present: Mayor Ross Pesch; Trustee Sandra Cooper; Trustee Paul Eichhorn; Trustee Aaron Lannert; Trustee Judith Wight; Attorney Lane Alster; Susan Pesch, Village Clerk; Theresa Johanson, Village Treasurer

Absent: Trustee Leroy Wiseman

III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG

Mayor Pesch commented that he wanted to take a moment to recognize Francis Heskett. Mr. Heskett passed away. He was a lifelong resident of the Village of Bellevue. He served on the Village of Bellevue Board and Village Zoning Board for many years. He will be missed.

IV. CONSENT AGENDA

A. Approval of Regular Session Minutes – December 10, 2024.

B. Approval of Bills

Trustee Wight moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Trustee Eichhorn seconded the motion. Approved with the following roll call vote:

VII. INFORMATION/DISCUSSION

A. Sheriff’s Report – Deputy Evans introduced himself as the new Deputy for the Village of Bellevue and stated that he is looking forward to helping the community. Trustee Lannert asked Deputy Evans if he could park at the school during dismissal in the afternoon. Mayor Pesch welcomed Deputy Evans to the community.

B. Streets Superintendent and Maintenance Report

C. Zoning and Code Enforcement Report – Mr. Raible informed the Board members that he is in the process of working with Attorney Alster regarding court dates in February.

D. Treasurer’s Report

E. Mayor’s Report

1. Payroll – Mayor Pesch stated that the payroll dates would be changing to the 15th and 31st. This will help with a more accurate payroll report. The employees will not have to wait three weeks to be paid.

2. Job Descriptions – Mayor Pesch explained that he is working to finalize job descriptions for each employment position and should have this ready for the next Board meeting.

3. Ordinance Tickets – Mayor Pesch informed the Board members that the Board is not always aware of the ordinance ticket information. If individuals call with concerns, they are to direct resident concerns to the Bellevue Mayor. Mayor Pesch stated that he has Matt working on various things.

4. Steve & Matt – Mayor Pesch thanked Steve and Matt for doing a great job with snow plowing.

F. Trustee’s Report

1. Trustee Cooper

a. Tickets – Trustee Cooper stated that she would like to see individuals receiving tickets for speeding.

b. Loans – Trustee Cooper commented that it is nice to see Village loans paid in full.

G. Attorney’s Report

VIII. EXECUTIVE SESSION

Trustee Lannert made a motion to go into Executive Session. Trustee Eichhorn seconded the motion. The Board entered Executive Session @ 6:10 p.m. Approved with the following roll call.

Abstain: 0

Trustee Lannert moved to enter Open Session @ 6:58 p.m. Trustee Cooper seconded the motion. Approved with the following roll call.

Yes: 5

No: 0

Abstain: 0

Mayor Pesch informed the Board members that Theresa Johanson has resigned effective February 15, 2025. He commented that he has appreciated her time with the Village of Bellevue.

Trustee Wight inquired about purchasing a truck instead of driving the work truck.

IX. ADJOURNMENT

Trustee Lannert moved to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Wight seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned by voice vote @ 7:02 p.m.
