March 19, 2025, Peoria, IL – Domincue D. Linwood has been sentenced to 85 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the murder of Jamarion Lee. The incident occurred on September 3, 2022, when police responded to a ShotSpotter alert on West Adrian G. Hinton Avenue in South Peoria at approximately 6:20 a.m. Officers found Lee in critical condition and he identified Linwood by his nickname "Dooder" as the shooter before losing consciousness. Lee was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A Peoria County Jury convicted Linwood of First Degree Murder this past January. During the sentencing hearing, Lee's family and loved ones filled one side of the courtroom, advocating for a life sentence. Assistant State's Attorney Kristin Alferink presented evidence connecting Linwood to other crimes in Peoria and argued that he is “out of control” and poses a danger to society.

Linwood is required to serve his entire sentence without parole.
